Tamiya 1/20 - MP4/8 Marlboro McLaren Ford - Senna - Monaco GP 1993

(Completed on 1996)
Senna in 93 McLaren Ford was just impressive. Senna drove an uncompetitive car and still won 5 races out of 16. Although he was beaten by superior Williams and Prost, everyone knew he could be World Champion again if he had a competitive car.

I built this model back in 1996-97. I spent a lot of time to detail the engine and its famous active rear suspension with different kind of wires, scratch-built electronic connectors and so on. I used no PE parts as it was not widely popular and available back then. Even part of the seat belt was scratch built with paper. Although it is my early built without too much aftermarket parts, I still like this model a lot because I never thought I could scratch built so many detail parts myself. :)

My next McLaren will probably a MP4/9 conversion. I just love the front monocoque of this McLaren.

This professionally built model is on-sale. If you are seriously interested, please email me.
